## What this license covers

This page governs reuse of the compiled datasets and reference tables that appear on PetGuideCalc — species parameter tables, dosing schedules, target ranges, and the source-linked values that drive the calculators. It does not cover third-party references cited on each page; those retain their original publisher’s terms and are linked with attribution. The site’s overall data practices are described on the [Privacy Policy](/privacy/) page.

## Permitted uses (with attribution)

You may quote, link to, and summarize PetGuideCalc datasets for the following purposes, provided PetGuideCalc is credited as the source and the URL of the original page is included:

- **Editorial and news coverage** — Short quotations of individual rows or values in articles, social posts, and broadcast scripts.
- **Academic and educational reference** — Citing specific target ranges or species parameters in research, course material, and husbandry literature, alongside the original scientific source we cite.
- **Forum and community answers** — Quoting a single target range or a small subset of rows to support an answer, with a link back to the relevant PetGuideCalc page.

## Prohibited uses

The following are not permitted without an explicit written agreement:

- **Bulk scraping at scale** — Automated harvest of whole tables, all species entries, or the calculator parameter sets for redistribution in any form.
- **Republishing as a competing calculator or dataset** — Incorporating PetGuideCalc values into a paid product, app, or service that competes with the calculators on this site, including re-presenting values from the [Sources](/sources/) roll-up without independent attribution to the underlying studies.
- **Removing or altering attribution** — Re-presenting quoted values as if from another source, or stripping the PetGuideCalc credit line when republishing permitted quotations.

## Accuracy disclaimer

PetGuideCalc tools provide general husbandry guidance based on published references and editorial review. They are not a substitute for professional veterinary advice, a herpetology consultation, or species-specific care from a qualified specialist. Verify any setup parameter with a qualified professional before applying it to a living animal.

Dataset values are reviewed on the cadence noted on each calculator’s “Last reviewed” line and on the [Methodology](/methodology/) page, but the underlying science evolves. The site is founded and maintained by [Patrick Li](/authors/patrick-li/), a software engineer — not a veterinarian. If you find a value that has been superseded by a more recent peer-reviewed source, please write to us at [editorial@petguidecalc.com](mailto:editorial@petguidecalc.com).

## Changes to this license

If this license changes materially, we update this page and the date above. Continued reuse of PetGuideCalc datasets after the change date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
