## What size wheel does a hamster need?

Syrian hamsters need a wheel of at least 28–30 cm (11–12 in); dwarf hamsters need at least 20 cm (8 in). Wheels smaller than 20 cm are not appropriate for any hamster. Always use a solid running surface — barred or mesh wheels cause bumblefoot.
